I didn't need a place with any amenities, otherwise this would not have been a good choice. I showed up without a reservation, and was hoping for just one open room on the ground floor because I can't navigate stairs.
I forget the name of the nice lady who checked me in and out, but she worked both days, 9/14 and 9/15.
Very nice n clean place. I was visiting my friend who was staying there n she goes there's all the time n says she's loves it. The prices are very reasonable n the rooms are very clean n the staff is very nice
The bathroom had plenty of handles for me, as well as a bench built-in that could be lifted out of the way if I felt necessary. Yes, the water pressure was less than desirable, but the hot water did not run out, which to me was more important.
The floors of the bathroom were very dirty, especially in the corners. The bedroom had chunks missing from the lino. My door key card lock would not open my door reliably. It took many time of sticking the card in the slot for the light to finally turn green and let me in and the locking mechanism was loose. The room smelled like it had been smoked in. The water in the toilet closet was very high. I was there for 10 ten and there were no drawers to put my clothes in. I had to live out of my suitcase. I had my cat with me and had to schedule a day when my cat and I would be gone for the room to be cleaned because I didn't have a cage to keep the cat in (I was told at the front desk). My cat and I left for the day and the room was not cleaned. When I complained at the desk, they told me a different supervisor was on duty and didn't know it was supposed to be cleaned, even though there was no "Do Not Disturb" sign in the lock. The laundry room was dirty and the washer on the right had some sort of clear jelly-like substance in the in the basket and I didn't feel comfortable putting my clothes in it. The sidewalks and tiers hadn't been cleaned off in years, it looked like, and the stair railings felt sticky to the touch. The staff was friendly but the front desk had an air of insincerity. Some sort of maintenance was going on in the room next to me (308) until late one night with a lot of banging. Every once in a while the two workers would argue loudly about something. I left a night early. The good points are close to many fast food restaurants and the freeway entrance and exit.
Not only was it ground floor, it was handicap accessible, even though it did not indicate on the door. Perhaps that is a marketing or security decision.
Well done.
Most of the front desk staff is friendly and helpful. All the cleaning staff was happy and helpful. It would be super helpful for the on the go traveler if there was at least one microwave and a coffee machine on the premises. The location is great and tons of fast food and convenient stores nearby. The hotel was also surprisingly clean with a faint smell of fabric softener in the air.
The room we were originally given had not been cleaned and while it was a non-smoking room, had a used ashtray on the bedside table. We came across the manager on duty on our way back to the office who immediately took measures to find us a different room. Unfortunately, that took a while and we had to just sort of lounge around outside while they tracked down another room and we ended in with a room with two beds instead of the king bed we reserved. The manager was very nice and helpful, but after a long day of driving, the 10 or 15 minutes of waiting on the stairs and walking around were sort of a drag.
